Secondment Opportunity - Teacher with TLR: Leader of Pedagogy and Learning (Focus in Upper School: Years 3-6)
TLR 2a: £3451 per annum
This is an ideal opportunity to try leadership in a school that has recently had a successful Estyn inspection.
Are you an ambitious, inspirational teacher ready to make a significant impact on learning and teaching across Years 3-6?
Following our highly successful Estyn inspection in June 2026, we are seeking an exceptional classroom practitioner to join our dedicated team as Upper School Learning Lead (TLR responsibility) as a secondment for the Spring and Summer terms of 2027.
This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside senior leaders to build upon the strong foundations in place and help drive the next stage of our school's development and success.

As Upper School Learning Lead, you will combine excellence in classroom teaching with strategic leadership across Years 3-6. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside senior leaders to build upon the strong foundations in place and help drive the next stage of our school's development and success.
Specific to this TLR:
• Showcase an excellent understanding of current pedagogical principles and how these are integral to Curriculum for Wales.
• Inspire staff to employ innovative and creative pedagogical approaches, ensuring a consistent and continual school-wide focus on learners’ achievement.
• Be accountable for high quality learning, efficient and effective use of resources and improved standards of teaching and achievement for all pupils,
• Support practitioners throughout the school to successfully fulfil their role as highly effective enabling adults, creating purposeful learning experiences within an engaging learning environment.
• Be committed to collaborative working and professional learning, seeking opportunities to develop colleagues and grow our school as a learning organisation.
• Keep up-to-date with professional learning opportunities and to disseminate this information to all staff in a timely manner.
• Support and direct staff to current professional learning opportunities to enhance their practice.
• Oversee professional learning activities aligned to the School Development Plan and liaise with SLT colleagues to evaluate outcomes.
• Attend professional learning network meetings and keep up to date with current National, Regional and Cluster Initiatives
• Be part of Professional Development and Review arrangements of our school, offering feedback, advice and coaching to colleagues.

• Is an outstanding classroom practitioner with high expectations for all learners.
• Has a passion for learning, teaching and curriculum development.
• Has experience of successfully leading improvement and supporting colleagues to develop their practice.
• Demonstrates a strong understanding of Curriculum for Wales and effective pedagogy.
• Can inspire, motivate and coach others to achieve excellence.
• Has a proven commitment to inclusion and meeting the needs of all learners, including pupils with Additional Learning Needs.
• Is committed to supporting and promoting the Catholic ethos and values of our school. You do not need to be Catholic, but you must be willing to actively support the distinctive mission and values of our Catholic school community.
• Values teamwork, collaboration and positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
