Highly Specialised Clinical Physiologist - EchoNHS

Braddan, IM4 4RJ Permanent £53,085 to £69,221
Posted 30 September 2026 Closing date 31 October 2026

Job summary

We are looking for a qualified and enthusiastic Clinical Scientist/Clinical Physiologist with a specialist interest in Echocardiography to join our Cardiorespiratory Team within Manx Care on the Isle of Man.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering and developing cardiac physiology services for the Island's population while furthering your own professional development within a supportive and innovative healthcare environment.

Main duties of the job

As part of our specialist Cardiorespiratory Team, you will be accountable to the Cardiorespiratory Manager and collaborate closely with experienced colleagues across the service to provide high-quality, patient-centred care. You will support the delivery of a responsive and cost-effective diagnostic service while contributing to ongoing service improvement and development.

The post is offered at Band 7 for those who hold professional registration as a Clinical Scientist or Clinical Physiologist with current British Society of Echocardiography Adult Accreditation, or an equivalent qualification. If you are expected to achieve accreditation within 6 months of commencing employment, we can offer a transitional Band 6 position with support towards progression. Applications are also welcomed from graduates of the Healthcare Scientist Training Programme.

You will provide a high-quality, accurate and quality-assured echocardiography service, ensuring diagnostic standards, service requirements and turnaround times are consistently met.

Our Cardiorespiratory Department has a long-standing reputation for delivering outstanding patient care. With several senior team members approaching retirement over the coming years, we are recruiting proactively to allow time for structured training, mentorship and succession planning. This approach helps safeguard specialist knowledge, supports professional development and ensures patients continue to receive a seamless, high-quality service.
