Our Dermatology service provides friendly, timely and high-quality care to children who have problems with their skin, hair or nails. An empathetic and problem-solving approach is essential.
We may advise medicines, creams, lotions or dressings and our nurse will be expected to demonstrate how to apply them, advise on general skin care, administer and teach parents/ carers to administer injection therapy and will also support the Consultant team with systemic clinics and Haemangioma monitoring.
Our specialist nurses support patients and families with the emotional aspects of their skin condition, helping them to understand it and empowering them to deal with it effectively. We provide a telephone and email support service for our patients and give advice to parents/ carers, schools, community nurses and GPs.
We welcome enquiries and informal visits to anyone interested in this role.
