Job summary
Calling all experienced Band 5 or Band 6 Physiotherapists. We have an opportunity to further your career development by offering a Band 6 Rotational Post at Good Hope Hospital. Providing the opportunity to develop your clinical expertise in a variety of areas, with the prospect to acquire further skills in areas such as Leadership, student training coupled with working alongside different people and different services and opportunities to be a part of the department's organisation. You may or may not have decided upon a specialty area to focus your career on yet, so why not continue to add to your skill set to support any future aspirations. You will be provided with training, learning on the job and peer support throughout from our friendly supportive teams. The areas on the rotation are: Respiratory, Health Care for Older People, Acute Medicine and Short Stay. There is variety in the patient cohorts as well as working patterns. Main duties of the job
To provide Physiotherapeutic assessment, management and rehabilitation of patients in a variety of clinical areas at Good Hope Hospital. Working in a variety of teams that consists of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Support Workers. The rotations will be approximately 6 months in duration.
Required to participate in the seven day working programmes across the organisation, and demonstrate flexibility to work in a variety of shift patterns.
To hold responsibility for own case load and be responsible for a defined area of the service, working without direct supervision. Supervision takes the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review, case conferences. Access to advice and support from senior physiotherapists is available, clinical work is not routinely evaluated.
To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner and maintain associated records.
To participate in the site on-call respiratory physiotherapy out of hours service once training has been provided and deemed competent.
To assist with supervision, education and assessment of the performance of physiotherapy students; this would be to a graduate standard and involve working with universities to ensure the standard of practice and teaching meets the standards set by the degree level qualification.
