Job summary

  • To provide Assistant Psychology support to the Complex Emotional Needs and Primary care Network (0.7) and also provide support (0.3) to the Principle Psychologist within the Specialist community Forensic Service.
  • The Band 4 Assistant Psychologist will support the delivery of therapeutic interventions, both groups and individual under the supervision of the Principal Psychologist.

Main duties of the job

Clinical Assist multidisciplinary colleagues in delivering individual and group therapeutic interventions.

Support the formulation and delivery of care plans addressing service users' psychological needs.

Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary and other relevant clinical meetings.

Communicate sensitively and professionally with service users, families, carers, professionals and partner agencies.

Teaching, Training and Supervision Receive regular clinical supervision in line with professional practice guidance.

Comply with relevant HCPC, BPS and DCP standards, codes and professional guidance.

Maintain high professional standards through agreed internal and external continuing professional development.

Develop the skills and competencies required for the role.

Contribute to the training and support of staff providing psychological care.

Management, Recruitment, Policy and Service Development Support the design and implementation of service-development projects and contribute to associated planning meetings.

Participate in Primary Care Integrated Mental Health Hub business and professional meetings, and Psychological Professions meetings.

Research and Service Evaluation Support audit, research and service-evaluation projects, including data collection, analysis and report writing using appropriate IT and statistical tools.

Review evidence-based literature to support qualified clinical psychologists and the wider team in evidence-based practice.
