Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Respiratory, Surgery and Critical Care Therapies team at Barnet Hospital as a Therapy Support Worker.

We are looking for an individual who demonstrates an energetic, enthusiastic and flexible approach to their work. You must have good organisational skills and be motivated to provide excellent care to patients to help them achieve their maximum functional ability. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team are essential for this position.

The successful applicant will join our experienced therapy team, working alongside occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech & language therapists and dietitians, as well as the wider multidisciplinary team.

The successful applicants will join a welcoming and supportive therapy department committed to providing excellent patient care, but also to providing a workplace that prioritises staff wellbeing and development. We are working towards being a fully inclusive department.

Main duties of the job

As a band 3 Therapy Support Worker, your role will include:

Assisting Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists with joint rehabilitation sessionsAssisting and progressing exercise programmesSupporting functional tasks + activities to promote independence with personal care (washing / dressing / cooking / feeding)Mobility rehabilitationMaintaining therapy resources and equipmentCollecting information from patients and familiesCommunicating effectively within the multidisciplinary teamAdministration tasks
