Site Controller - Kennet Valley Primary SchoolCouncil

Reading 37 hours/week £26,403 - £28,598 per year

37 hours per week split shift (Monday to Friday, 7 am start 6 pm finish)
with some flexibility during school holiday periods. To start 1 November 2026 or as soon as possible.

We are looking for a hard-working, enthusiastic, reliable and dedicated person. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining and securing our extensive grounds. Responsible for the day-to-day operation, safety and general maintenance and upkeep of the whole school to help enhance the environment for both children and staff. Maintenance duties may include: basic plumbing and carpentry, general DIY work, gardening, painting tasks. We are looking for someone who is able to juggle priorities, be flexible and have the ability to work within a team. You will be physically fit and able to work under your own initiative.

The successful applicant will be:

  • Keen to keep the school and grounds clean, safe, secure and well maintained.
  • Willing to learn new skills and undergo training.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Have experience in managing compliance and health and safety.
  • Manage a team of cleaners to keep highest standards
  • Have a good base knowledge of maths, English and computer skills an advantage.
